ATTACKING THREAT: Leeds United winger Raphinha had an excellent first half

If the first half allowed the Whites players to show their qualities on the ball, the second was more about what they did off it.

Illan Meslier – some important saves in the latter stages 8

Luke Ayling – the right-hand side of a back three really plays to his strengths, he was excellent 8

Kalvin Phillips – so assured defensively, whether at the heart of the back three or moving into midfield when Burney opted for a front three in the final 15 minutes 8

Pascal Struijk – played his part in a solid defensive performance 7

Stuart Dallas – good at wing-back, central midfield and full-back 7

Mateusz Klich – given an anchorman role with Phillips dropping deeper, it did not quite happen for him 5

Ezgjan Alioski – a couple of vital clearances 7

Raphinha – the star player of the first half, like his team he had less joy in the second 8

Rodrigo – got into some good positions but his final pass or shot were not quite there 6

Jack Harrison – not really his day 6

Patrick Bamford – an emphatic penalty 7.

Pablo Hernandez (for Rodrigo, 58) – sprang a rapid counter-attack but could not quite finish it 6

Jamie Shackleton (for Klich, 67) – tried to bring security at right wing-back and in central midfield 6

Ian Poveda (for Raphinha, 70) – difficult for a winger to make much impact when he came on 5
