Leeds United-linked star rocked by hamstring blow, next Celtic manager race heats up

Leeds United bulldozed their way to a 3-0 Premier League win over struggling Southampton last night, as Marcelo Bielsa's men leapfrogged Arsenal and Wolves into tenth place with a fine display at Elland Road.

Speaking after the big victory, Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa praised summer signing Diego Llorente for an impressive home debut, and claimed: "Our defensive game is collective, our forwards do a lot of work so it is less difficult for our defenders to recover the ball."

"Evidently Llorente is a player with hierarchy. In a game like today where the opponent used different strikers and the majority of them with quality, his contribution was very necessary."

Elsewhere in Yorkshire, down in the Championship, Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United's struggles continued in the midweek fixtures, as they fell to defeats against Brentford, Derby County and Nottingham Forest respectively.

Conversely, Barnsley continued their sensational 2020/21 campaign to move within touching distance of the play-off places, after securing a 2-0 home win against Stoke City - making it four wins on the bounce.
