Leeds United manager Daniel Farke expecting a tough Wednesday night in Stoke

Daniel Farke is expecting a cold Wednesday night in Stoke will be even tougher with Alex Neil as manager of the Potters.

Farke has a good record against the Scot, but knows that will count for anything when Leeds United are there this week.

"A good record is never a guarantee," said Farke, who has no fresh injuries to contend with. "I'm very respectful because Alex is an unbelievably experienced coach in English football, especially at Championship level.

"I like a coach or manager where you can always see the handwriting. You can always see his handwriting in his team.

"His teams always play with intensity, aggression and bravery – they go for it with many crosses. You have to defend the second balls really well, they played with fighting spirit and quite often play with a knife between the teeth. This is what you expect when you play his sides.

"Some of his former players from Preston are at Stoke and you can see his handwriting.

"One of his biggest skills is when there's pressure he's standing strong giving his team confidence. His team tries to fight altogether.

"This is what they did against a really good Sunderland side. That’s why they got a really good and important win.

"We know it will be a tough task.

"I don't want to use the old English quote about Stoke I’m very aware of but especially since Alex has been working there it is even more the case. So we have to be fully switched on to fight for the points."
