Leeds United player ratings: Plenty of fives and a few sevens as Whites bow out of 2025-26 meekly

Leeds United finished an excellent season on a disappointing low at the London Stadium.

They went into the game looking to reach 50 points by extended their unbeaten finish to nine games but in stifling heat and with little to play against opponents who had plenty, an injury-hit side could not find that little bit extra and were beaten 3-0 by West Ham United.

It must be stressed that plenty of players who scored poorly on the final day earned high marks for their season as a whole.

Karl Darlow – made some decent saves but was unable to stop the second-half tide 7

Joe Rodon – strangely rooted to the ground for West Ham's opener 5

Jaka Bijol – not the highest bar it has ever been, but he was the best of the Leeds defenders 7

Pascal Struijk – loose in the second half in particular 5

Jayden Bogle – like most of his team-mates, he was not at his sharpest 6

Ao Tanaka – his sloppiness in possession set up a few West Ham counter-attacks 5

Ethan Ampadu – no shortage of effort from the captain 6

James Justin – one of Leeds' players of the season, he had a decent day 7

Brenden Aaronson – a free-kick lacking in conviction summed his day up 5

Lukas Nmecha – worked hard both as an inside-forward and in his preferred centre-forward position 6

Dominic Calvert-Lewin – missed a chance to show why he did not get the World Cup call 5

Substitutes:

Daniel James (for Bijol, 69) – used again at wing-back but still does not look comfortable there 5

Willy Gnonto (for Nmecha, 69) – brought a bit of energy in the heat 6

Facundo Buonanotte (for Tanaka, 78) – missed his chance to end a disappointing season with a goal 4

Joel Piroe (for Bogle, 78) – as above 4

Sebastiaan Bornauw (for Aaronson, 90+1) – N/A

Not used: Perri, Byram, Chadwick, Cresswell.
