Leeds United set to battle Arsenal for wonderkid winger, Barnsley ace lands new deal

Leeds United powered their way to a 3-0 Premier League win over Southampton last night, as Marcelo Bielsa's side leapfrogged Arsenal and Wolves into tenth place with a clinical display at Elland Road.

Speaking after the big win, Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa praised summer signing Diego Llorente for an impressive home debut, and claimed: "Our defensive game is collective, our forwards do a lot of work so it is less difficult for our defenders to recover the ball."

"Evidently Llorente is a player with hierarchy. In a game like today where the opponent used different strikers and the majority of them with quality, his contribution was very necessary."

Elsewhere in Yorkshire, down in the Championship, both Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United's struggles continued last night, as they fell to defeats against Derby County and Nottingham Forest respectively.

Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley are also in midweek action this evening, with the former looking to move out of the relegation zone with a win away to Brentford, while the latter will continue to chase the play-off places.
