The rumour mill has today seen the Whites’ name mentioned alongside Sean McGurk, Jordan Amavi and Louis Sibley.

The latest on Wigan Athletic’s Sean McGurk

Leeds were also keeping a close eye on a number of Wigan Athletic’s talented youngsters during the previous transfer window, including 17-year-old Sean McGurk.

The Whites made an enquiry about him again last week, but with his contract due to run out at the end of the current season, are unlikely to make a substantial bid before the January transfer window closes.

Wigan are determined to hang on to the teenager, who could find himself playing first-team football in League One if he stays put.

Leeds United linked with former Aston Villa man Jordan Amavi

Reports in France suggest that Leeds are interested in signing Marseille left-back Jordan Amavi.

The player is said to see a move to Elland Road 'attractive challenge', with the 26-year-old reportedly wanting to play with Bielsa.

The defender has been at Marseille since leaving the Midlands in 2017 but is keen to return to the Premier League.

His former club Aston Villa are also said o be interested in a deal to re-sign him.

Tyler Roberts exit latest as talk of Elland Road departure swirls

According to The Athletic, Leeds United will not allow Tyler Roberts to leave Elland Road this month.

Bielsa is said to be keen to hang onto the 22-year-old, despite interest from a number of Championship clubs.

Sheffield Wednesday, Derby, Cardiff, Bournemouth and Preston are all named as interested parties in the Welshman's future, who now seems set to stay at Elland Road.

Leeds United urged to sign a striker

Alex McLeish believes Leeds need to sign another striker to try and relieve Patrick Bamford of some pressure.

Speaking to Football Insider, the former Rangers and Aston Villa boss said: "Yeah, of course, of course they do, absolutely.

"Look at Callum Wilson at Newcastle, okay, he’s played up with Andy Carroll and started together the other day there but Andy’s kind of in the last couple of years of his career, I would think, and definitely Bamford is also relied on too much."

Leeds United should make move for Derby County star

Kevin Campbell believes that Louis Sibley is talented enough to make the step up to the Premier League, as he urged Leeds United to sign the Derby County youngster.

Speaking to Football Insider, Campbell explained why the 19-year-old would be a good addition for Marcelo Bielsa.

“Listen, if Leeds United want Sibley then they believe that he is ready for the Premier League. If Leeds pull the trigger it would be a great move. He is a talented player and talented players in the Championship can make that jump to the Premier League.

“It is great that he is linked with Leeds and let’s see if they can pull it off.”
