Leeds United transfer news: Tyler Adams turning Champions League heads with USMNT performances in World Cup

Leeds United could face a battle to retain one of their World Cup stars, if the praise of one of their former players is anything to go by.

Summer signing Tyler Adams has been one of the breakout stars of the World Cup, captaining and leading the United States to two draws and a win as they qualified from Group B behind England.

Midfielder Adams joined Leeds from RB Leipzig in the summer for a reported fee of £20m.

He signed a five-year contract and has made 13 appearances so far for the Whites, but his performances out in Qatar could soon start to turn heads.

That is the belief of Paul Robinson, the long-time Leeds United and England goalkeeper who told OLBG: “A lot of Champions League clubs will be looking at Tyler Adams.

"From a Leeds point of view, I've watched him since he joined.

"Adams is very competitive, he does not care who he plays against and puts in the same effort of performance week-in and week-out.

"He's excellent with his ball rotation skills. We all saw against England what a top quality player he is, the problem for Leeds is now everyone else has seen how good he is.

"That kid can go on to play in the Champions League, so will Brenden Aaronson, both were excellent.

"Adams has been the player of Group B so far.”

United States continue their World Cup campaign with a round-of-16 tie against the Netherlands on Saturday.
