Leeds United transfer news: Whites set £35m asking price for lethal striker

Leeds United stunned table-toppers Manchester City with a shock 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium last weekend, as a spirited team performance culminated in Stuart Dallas' firing home a dramatic added-time winner.

The result was made even more impressive by the fact Leeds played the second half with just ten men, after skipper Liam Cooper was sent off for a badly misjudged challenge just before half-time.

Speaking after the big win, ex-Whites man Dominic Matteo gave his verdict on Cooper's red card, and contended: “I thought it was a good tackle. That's me being me but I would have loved that tackle to be honest.

“It was perfect, he took the ball, he took everything. We know that nowadays you can't do that and you can't get away with it unfortunately but for me there is nothing wrong with that kind of tackle.

“He was off the floor a little bit but we have seen other teams get away with that such as the challenge on Tyler Roberts in the Sheffield United game.”

Meanwhile, Yorkshire's second-tier sides experienced mixed fortunes in the Championship last night, as Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town both suffered defeats, while Rotherham United picked up a shock 3-1 win over QPR.

The Millers are back in action again tomorrow night, as they look to fit in their mass build-up of games in hand before the season ends.

Here are today's biggest transfer stories and the latest team news involving Leeds United, Barnsley and a number of other sides from Yorkshire and beyond, as the reaction to the action to last weekend's action continues:
