Speaking ahead of the match, Leeds star Patrick Bamford talked up teammate Joe Gelthardt, and flatteringly compared him to England's record goalscorer Wayne Rooney.
He claimed: “He reminds me - I don't want to say the same level as Rooney - but he is the same kind of build as Rooney was. A stocky lad, great finisher.
“It's just whether or not he kind of sticks with it, he is young, isn't he, so he can look good at that age and not make anything of it. It's up to him to kind of push on.”
Meanwhile, down in the Championship, the Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham United, and Huddersfield Town all look set to be embroiled in a fierce relegation battle that could go down to the wire, as teams at the foot of the table continue to struggle to pick up points.
Conversely, Valerien Ismael's Barnsley continue to fly up the second-tier table, and find themselves in with a real chance of making the play-offs, following a sensational run of form which has seen them win their last six league games on the trot and move to seventh in the table.
Here are today's biggest transfer stories and the latest team news involving Leeds United, Huddersfield Town and a number of other sides from Yorkshire and beyond, as we gear up for the weekend action:
