Leeds United youngster Stuart McKinstry back on familiar territory with Motherwell loan

Leeds United winger Stuart McKinstry has joined Motherwell for a second loan spell, three years after his first came to an end.

McKinstry spent the second half of 2018-19 on loan at Fir Park without making a senior appearance. Now 19, it is important he gets game-time in his second spell in the Scottish Premiership.

His only senior football since coming back from Scotland has been 15 minutes at Fulham in the League Cup at the end of last season - although he did have the valuable experience of taking and scoring his penalty as the visitors won the shoot-out - and a three-minute Premier League debut at Tottenham Hotspur in November.

He has also played four times for the Under-21s against Football League sides in the EFL Trophy - two each in the past two campaigns.

Left-back Leif Davis (to Ipswich Town), centre-back Charlie Cresswell and midfielder Jamie Shackleton (both Millwall) are other youngsters Leeds have loaned out this season.
