New dates for key Leeds United games

LEEDS UNITED’S marquee Premier League home fixtures against Liverpool and Manchester United have been moved to new dates.

Reigning champions Liverpool – who were due to visit Elland Road on Saturday, April 17 – now head to West Yorkshire on Monday, April 19 (8pm), with the Red Devils’ scheduled game at Leeds having been put back 24 hours to Sunday, April 24 (2pm).

Sheffield United, who visit Leeds on Saturday, have confirmed that Matt Prestridge, Darren Ward and Mike Allen have left by mutual consent.

The trio were part of Chris Wilder’s backroom staff during his time at Bramall Lane.

Middlesbrough have been fined £10,000 and warned over their future conduct after being found guilty by the Football Association regarding a breach of FA Rule E20.

The club were charged by the governing body of failing to ensure that its players and/or club officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion following the final whistle of their side’s controversial Championship match at Swansea City on March 6.

Boro denied the charge, but an independent regulatory commission found the charge proven during a subsequent hearing and have now imposed this sanction.

Doncaster Rovers’ head of talent identification Adam Henshall has been appointed as the new head of emerging talents and loans at Aston Villa.

The announcement of Henshall’s decision to take up a role at an unnamed Premier League club was revealed last week and the Midlands club have now confirmed that he will be joining them.

Henshall, 27, who joined Doncaster from Shrewsbury Town in December, 2019, will be involved in the appointment of his successor.

Harrogate Town’s EnviroVent Stadium will witness some English Football League history on Easter Monday with Rebecca Welch to become the first female referee appointed to take charge of an EFL game.

Welch is to become the first female referee appointed to take charge of an EFL game. She is set to officiate in Harrogate’s home game against Port Vale in League Two.

Washington-based Welsh has officiated seven National League games this season.

Meanwhile, Harrogate have confirmed that winger Simon Power will miss the rest of the 2020-21 season with a hamstring injury.
