Not long now until the Championship season gets underway. In just over a month’s time the 46-game slog will begin in earnest in what is a new football landscape. League One and Two clubs are limited in what they can do with their salary cap, while there are teams in the second tier who have a good budget and others who don’t what with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

In turn it leaves clubs open to having their key players picked off by Premier League clubs with Leeds United, West Brom and Fulham likely looking at division for transfer targets.
