Leeds United transfer news: Striker told he can find new club, Whites keen on 72-cap talent

Leeds United’s return to the Premier League has seen them rub shoulders with some of the biggest clubs in England and beyond.

Whereas on the field they are regularly doing battle with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, and the two Manchester giants, off it they are having to pit their wits against some of Europe's elite in the transfer market.

We’ve seen it recently with the likes of Inter Milan and Liverpool linked with Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul, and we could see something similar where Torino’s Nicolas Nkoulou is concerned.

According to Torino Granata, Leeds are very interested in the Cameroonian defender, and could look to make a move this summer, with the player’s contract set to expire at the end of the season.

If they do enact a swoop for the 30-year-old, however, they may well have to beat off opposition from the likes of PSG, who are also credited with an interest.

Nkoulou is a vastly experienced character, with 72 Cameroon caps to his name, and stints with the likes of Marseille and Lyon in France.

The defender has been limited to just nine starts in Serie A this term, however, and a move looks increasingly likely.

Elsewhere, Hibernian have told teenage striker Ethan Laidlaw that he is permitted to move to the Premier League.

According to Football Insider, the 16-year-old spent time on trial with Leeds recently, and his agent has subsequently been told that he can find him a new club.

Ultimately, however, his future depends on whether or not any club is willing to meet Hibs’ six-figure asking price.

We’ve gathered the rest of today’s Premier League speculation below...
