Chief football writer assesses the performances of the players who helped close out promotion.
Matt Ingram – a poor kick gave Hull some late jitters but he had a quiet afternoon 6
Lewie Coyle – the captain produced the crosses which led to both goals 8
Alfie Jones – not his fault, but his move into midfield tipped the balance 6
Jacob Greaves – a terrific tackle late on 7
Callum Elder – defended well at left-back 6
Regan Slater – sacrificed to belatedly restore the balance of the midfield 6
Greg Docherty – brings Championship quality to Hull's midfield 7
Mallik Wilks – super-cool for the penalty 7
George Honeyman – did some good things but was walking a fine line after picking up an early booking, so his half-time withdrawal made sense 6
Keane Lewis-Potter – lively in the first half but had a couple of shots blocked and put a difficult header wide. Suffered in the second from his side sitting back 7
Josh Magennis – scored a cracking goal and cannot be blamed for Hull not building on it 8.
Reece Burke (for Honeyman, 45) – did his job fine, it was just pushing Jones into midfield to make way for him which unbalanced Hull 6
Gavin Whyte (for Lewis-Potter, 65) – provided some impetus from the bench 7
Dan Crowley (for Slater, 69) – brought on 24 minutes too late 6
Tom Eaves (for Magennis, 73) – won the penalty 7
Not used: Long, Smallwood, Emmanuel.
