Alfie Jones – not his fault, but his move into midfield tipped the balance 6

Jacob Greaves – a terrific tackle late on 7

Callum Elder – defended well at left-back 6

Regan Slater – sacrificed to belatedly restore the balance of the midfield 6

Greg Docherty – brings Championship quality to Hull's midfield 7

Mallik Wilks – super-cool for the penalty 7

George Honeyman – did some good things but was walking a fine line after picking up an early booking, so his half-time withdrawal made sense 6

Keane Lewis-Potter – lively in the first half but had a couple of shots blocked and put a difficult header wide. Suffered in the second from his side sitting back 7

Josh Magennis – scored a cracking goal and cannot be blamed for Hull not building on it 8.
