Hull City were the only Yorkshire side to win their first game of the campaign as they defeated Bristol City with a stoppage-time winner in East Yorkshire.
There were narrow defeats for Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United, against Burnley and Watford respectively, while Rotherham United earned a solid point at home to Swansea City.
Middlesbrough claimed a point from their Riverside Stadium clash against West Brom.
The Terriers kicked off the season with their home clash against Burnley and are the first side in action again this weekend as they head to Birmingham City on Friday evening.
Hull make the trip to Preston while Middlesbrough and Rotherham are also on the road at QPR and Coventry respectively. Sheffield United host Millwall, who lead the table after one game thanks to their 2-0 win over Stoke City last weekend.

The Dutchman is on loan at Burnley from Chelsea and scored the opening goal of the Championship season in the Clarets' 1-0 win at Huddersfield Town last Friday.

3. CB: Ben Cabango - £7.2m
The 22-year-old came through the academy at Swansea City and has scored six goals in 88 appearances for the club since his debut in August 2019.

4. CB: John Egan - £6.3m
The Republic of Ireland international has been a key player for Sheffield United since joining from Brentford in the summer of 2018. He has made 158 appearances for the Blades.
