Middlesbrough FC, Rangers and Blackburn Rovers credited with interest in Stockport County star Adama Sidibeh

Middlesbrough have been credited with interest in a revered Stockport County marksman

Middlesbrough are reportedly among the clubs interested in luring Adama Sidibeh from Stockport County.

The 28-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable rise to prominence, ascending from the depths of non-league football to the EFL in a relatively short period of time.

He was on the books of seventh-tier Warrington Rylands 1906 as recently as 2024, but is now among the most revered League One frontmen and a senior Gambia international.

Sidibeh stepped into full-time football with Scottish outfit St Johnstone in February 2024 and his exploits north of the border alerted Stockport. He only joined the Hatters in January but after 10 goals in 25 appearances, transfer speculation is again circulating.

Middlesbrough linked with Stockport County star

According to reporter Alan Nixon via his Patreon page, Championship promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough are among his admirers.

Bristol City and Blackburn Rovers have also been mooted as potential destinations, while Scottish heavyweights Rangers are said to be monitoring him.

Blessed with blistering pace and a love of hassling defenders, Sidibeh would arguably be an exciting addition to the Middlesbrough frontline.

Adam Sidibeh’s profile

When he joined Stockport earlier this year, the club’s head of recruitment Jonathan Smith said: “Adama is a player we’ve tracked closely for a period of time, especially with his deal coming close to expiring at St Johnstone.

“His journey from non-league with Cheadle Nomads and Warrington Rylands through to the SPL with St Johnstone, and now becoming a full international for Gambia, speaks volumes about his character and determination.

“He brings exceptional pace, an outstanding work ethic out of possession, and a real intensity that gives defenders no time to settle. Those qualities align perfectly with how we want our teams to play.

“Adama is still in the early stages of his professional career, which is an exciting place for us to be involved. We believe this environment is the right one for him to continue his development, and we’re confident he has the potential to make a real impact while growing with us over the coming seasons.”
