Middlesbrough FC transfer latest: Glasgow Rangers midfielder joins on season-long loan
MIDDLESBROUGH have sealed a strong summer window’s work with the capture of a defensive midfielder after Glasgow Rangers’ Connor Barron joined on loan for the rest of the season.
Barron’s arrival ends the Teessiders’ search for another number six midfield option and his signing follows on from the arrival of Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry, also on a season-long loan.
Cozier-Duberry will replace Morgan Whittaker, who is set to leave Boro for Colorado Rapids in a $13m record deal for the MLS club.
Barron provides cover following the sale of Abdoulaye Kante's exit.

Barron had fallen out of favour at Ibrox and has now been allowed to head south of the border.
He joined Rangers on a four-year deal after leaving Aberdeen as a free agent in the summer of 2024.
Barron was a youth player at Pittodrie and has 105 club appearances, including games on loan at Brechin City and Kelty Hearts.
Sevilla and West Ham were linked with the 23-year-old earlier in the summer window.
The Aberdeenshire-born player has been capped once by Scotland at senior level.
