Bettinelli: No chance with Mbenza’s brilliant free-kick. Good save just before break to deny Bacuna and a key one in the second half to thwart Phillips. 7

Fisher: Won the penalty that put Boro ahead just before the break. Came late in the second half. Will have been happy when Mbenza departed. 6

Dijksteel: Had issues early on against the vibrant Huddersfield attackers. Regrouped. 7

Hall: First home start since September 19 and threatened in the air offensively. 7

McNair: Posed danger with some sweet set-pieces. Saw red late on for a studs-up challenge. 6

Bola: Difficult start. Kept bust in the second half. 6

Morsy: Booked for a late one on O’Brien. Dug in late on as Boro protected their lead. 6

Howson: Get the grips with the game after Town’s early dominance. 7

Kebano: Grew into the game and started to pose problems. Some nice moments. 7

Fletcher: Disappointing first half, but will have felt a bit better after his penalty crept in. And relieved. 6

Watmore: Scored a fantastic equaliser and threatened along with Kebano. Confident display laced with pace and quality. 8

Substitutes: Spence (Fisher 79); 6 Saville (Kebano 79), 6; Johnson (Watmore 86); Akpom (Fletcher 86).

Not used. Archer, Assombalonga, Mendez-Laing, Coulson.

Huddersfield Town

Schofield: Did not look great under the high ball and will have been disappointed that Fletcher’s penalty squirmed under him. 5

Pipa: Showed early intent. But was then on the back foot. 6

Keogh: At full-stretch at times and tested aerially. 6

Sarr: A few nervy moments and struggled against the wit and guile of Watmore at times. 6

O’Brien: A bit soft for Watmore’s goal and it was compounded by his penalty concession. 5 Understandably moved to his normal midfield role at the break. 5

Hogg: Tried to set the tone from the off against his hometown club and kept going. 7

Bacuna: More assertive and involved than Saturday. Went close with a great free-kick and was Town’s most dangerous player. 8

Holmes: Lively in Town’s dominant start. But faded. 6

Pritchard. Showed some bright touches on his first start since December 12. But his early fire went out. 6

Mbenza: Crowned a fantastic opening with a brilliant free-kick. A big miss when he went off on the half-hour with injury. 7

Campbell: Grafted for the team, with most of his work being away from the box. Blazed one great chance and his frustration was there for all to see. 6

Substitutes: Vallejo (Mbenza 30). Slotted in at the back after Mbenza made way. 6

Rowe (Pritchard 45). Came on at the break to allow O’Brien to switch to left-back. Went close to scoring late on. 7

Phillips (Holmes 55). Thrown on to add another forward presence for Town. Smacked the post late on and went close before that too. 7

Daly (Keogh 85).
