Taylor, 24, has penned a three-year deal, with the fee eclipsing the near £400,000 fee paid out to sign Jonson Clarke-Harris from Oldham Athletic in September 2014.

According to reports in Peterborough, the fee is just under £500,000 for Taylor, who almost moved to Bristol City earlier this summer in a swap deal involving Wes Burns.

Taylor’s arrival follows on from the capture of former Nottingham Forest defender Kelvin Wilson on a one-year deal with the Millers also bidding to bring in Celtic midfielder Scott Allan on loan.

They have also been linked with Swedish striker Christoffer Nyman.

The Millers have previously signed Anthony Forde, Jake Forster-Caskey, Lewis Price and Will Vaulks so far this summer.
