New Barnsley signing forced to wait for debut

The 22-year-old full-back has not shrugged off the hamstring injury which has hindered his start to life at Oakwell.
He will now watch Saturday’s visit of Sunderland, with Reds boss Paul Heckingbottom hoping the defender will return to action after the international break.

“He’s been fit and playing, the last couple of games he has been managing his hamstring. When we scanned him, we saw a little tear in there.
“We have been pushing him, and he was desperate to play, but he’s not quite there.
“He will be in over the international break to try and get him fit for the next game.”

Heckingbottom added: “In September, we start on the 9th and have seven games in three weeks. Lots of travelling too, so we will need everybody.”
