Harrogate Town have beefed up their forward line with intelligence and enthusiasm by loaning Josh March, according to manager Simon Weaver.

Scoring goals is often the problem a club faces when stepping up a division and Bradford City are the only team outside League Two's bottom three to have scored fewer than Harrogate's 21 in their debut Football League season.

With that in mind, the Sulphurites have loaned March from Forest Green Rovers until the end of the campaign.

Injury has hampered March since he moved to the New Lawn 12 months ago, limiting him to 16 appearances – only half of them league starts – and two goals, but he showed what he was capable of when he scored 24 goals in 26 Conference North appearances for Leamington to get that transfer.

The 23-year-old has proven his fitness in training with Harrogate this week.

“He’s a clever type of centre-forward who will get on the end of things, a real poacher and we’ve already seen that in training.” said Weaver.

“He gets across the front of defenders and his goals, enthusiasm and energy will be good for us.”
