Next Everton manager: Sean Dyche, David Moyes and Wayne Rooney the leading names to takeover at Goodison Park as pressure increases on Frank Lampard

Jarrod Bowen’s first-half double helped West Ham move out of the Premier League relegation zone as they piled the misery on fellow strugglers Everton with a 2-0 win at the London Stadium.

The Toffees remain off the foot of the table on goal difference, after Southampton were beaten 1-0 at home by Aston Villa. Bowen netted twice in seven minutes to seal three points for the Hammers and ease the pressure on David Moyes.

The defeat only increased the pressure on Everton boss Frank Lampard, as his side are now 10 games without a win in all competition. They have won just three times in 20 league outings this term.

Questioned on his future, Lampard said: "Those things are not my choice, it is my job to work, focus and keep my head down. I have confidence in how I want to coach. There's difficult conditions that I am aware of. I just do my job and talk about what I can affect, and that's the players trying to get the right results."

Everton forward Alex Iwobi said afterwards: "We were unfortunate not to get the result, we keep pushing but it wasn't our day. If we don't take our chances we will get punished.

"We discussed about getting on top of them because they are in the same situation as us but unfortunately it was not the case. The ownership is on us as a team, we attack and defend together. We still have half the season left and a lot of improvement to do.

"Frank Lampard made a few changes after the break, told us to keep pushimg and be more dynamic. (Pressure) is nothing new to us, we were in the same situation last season. We have a break coming up and we have to regroup. It is not just the manager who takes responsibility, the players are fighting for him and the club."
