DANNY WILSON has hailed the fearless qualities of rejuvenated Barnsley centre-half Jean Yves-M’Voto - and says his no-nonsense qualities are helping to yield a back four improvement.

The French stopper, after a difficult first half of the season, is now making his mark at Oakwell and was influential in Tuesday’s victory over former club Oldham Athletic.

M’Voto also impressed in the weekend win over Port Vale, playing his part in an experienced rearguard also featuring Martin Cranie, Peter Ramage and Lewin Nyatanga.

Wilson, whose side visit Swindon Town tomorrow where the Reds are seeking their third successive League One win for the third time this term, said: “Jean has done great since he’s come back in. He is what he is.

“You can pick holes in him as long as you want, all night. But he gives you that strength and people are scared of him.

“I don’t mean physically trembling, but they pull out of challenges and headers with him as he’s fearless.

“He sees the ball and just goes for it. You have to tip your hat off to him because he’s done great for us in the last few games.

“Supplemented by the boys either side of him who read the game quite well, from that point of view the back four has been quite solid recently.”
