No chance with Spurs’ three goals, having been left horrible exposed for the first two and then beaten from distance for the third. Recovered from a shocking attempted clearance to deny Kane.
On his 150th league appearance for Town, the captain tested Lloris with an early left foot shot that the Spurs keeper did well to beat away low to his right.
Vital early deflection ensured a Harry Kane snapshot flew over the crossbar but found life tough against a visiting side who poured forward at pace.
Caught out of position for the first goal but stuck to his task well. The interception to deny Kane just after half-time was all about the German’s sense of anticipation.
Unfortunate that his tackle on Eriksen found Davies for the second goal but he had a difficult afternoon against the rampant visitors. Substituted.
Huddersfield were overwhelmed at times in midfield. Mooy saw less of the ball than usual as a result but he did still provide some dangerous crosses, never more so than in the first half when his floated effort had to be clawed out from under his bar by Lloris.
Unable to stem the tide of navy blue shirts on his , especially in the first half. Needed to offer more protection to the back four. Substituted.
Usual hard-working shift and had his hands full tracking back with Davies. It meant he was unable to offer much in the way of attacking threat, though he did come close to reaching a Scott Malone cross late on. Booked.
Had an early effort blocked and a couple of nice touches but Spurs’ attack-minded approach meant most of his work was in trying to track the runners.
Van La Parra 6
As with most of Town’s attacking players, the Dutchman was too busy tracking back to make much of an impact going forward. He did, though, have an early shot blocked.
Had to survive on scraps but kept battling away and was unfortunate to see his rasping 20-yard drive crash against the crossbar shortly before half-time.
Malone (for Lowe 60) 6
Linked up well with van La Parra going forward down the left flank. Surely worth a starting role when the Premier League resumes in a fortnight.
Billing (for Mooy 60) 6
Brought energy to the midfield but lacked a killer final pass.
Whitehead (for Hogg 81) -
Couple of biting tackles and tracked Alli well to prevent one breakaway.
