HERE are the Barnsley FC player ratings from this afternoon's Championship home encounter against Nottingham Forest at Oakwell.

Walton: Made two outstanding first-half saves to deny Guerrero and Lolley and will have been relieved when the former then shot straight at him when set clear. Also made a flying save to keep out Taylor's header on the restart. Strong performance. 8

Sollbauer. Had to stay alert as Forest posed a threat in the channels in Lolley, while Taylor also drifted wide. Kept busy. 6

Helik. Made a key covering challenge to thwart the dangerous Lolley in the first period to prevent a likely goal. 7

Andersen. Caught out by Lolley once in first half, with Christie and Lolley posing issues down the flanks. 6

Brittain. Some lovely interplay with Chaplin at times and displayed trademark energy. Set up Woodrow's killer second. 7

Mowatt. Drove Barnsley on against a good Forest side. Did not have it all his own way. 6

James. Steady-away, but had to dig in and show his experience as Forest dominated before the break. 6

Styles. So impressive in the league fixture here at the end of last season and provided an irresistible encore with a marvellous late winner. Made some key interceptions in the first half and posted danger going forward and then came that fabulous moment to break the deadlock. 8

Frieser. A little bit in and out at times, but posed sporadic threat. His tale of misfortune in front of the Ponty End continued when he missed a close-range chance. 6

Chaplin. A real 'bottle of pop' who set the tempo early on. Very unfortunate when he cut inside and fired against the woodwork. His endeavour deserved a goal. 8

Thomas (Frieser 62). Teed up Woodrow's chance which hit the bar.

Oduor (Mowatt 82), 6
