Ratings: How Barnsley FC players fared against Stoke

Walton: One key first-half save to deny Fletcher. But his error to gift Stoke a second leveller was dreadful. 5

J Williams: The consistent performer for the Reds this term and slotted in on the right in Sollbauer's absence. 7

Helik: Attentive and strong at first, but his failure to cut out Souttar's pass enabled Campbell to race clear for the leveller. Key block to deny Brown late on. 5

Andersen: Better than the fixture here in July, for sure. Decent, more work to do on restart. 6

Brittain: Thrown in for his debut and his tenacity and energy levels were good and had the chance to be a hero on two occasions. Really bright debut. 8

Palmer: Carried on from his good performance on Saturday and is clearly not intimidated by his Championship surroundings. Very bright future. Came off early in the second half for Kane to manage his workload. 7

Mowatt: Quiet start on Saturday, but the opposite applied here. Looked in the mood from the off. Pinpoint cross for Frieser's strike, although not everything came off. 7

Oduor: Discipline and awareness in the first half. Being critical, he could have communicated better with Walton for the second goal. Decision-making let him down at times in final third. 6.

Simoes: Coolly steered home just his third goal for Barnsley in his attempt to lay claim to the number ten role. Strong work-rate all night and can be pleased. 7

Frieser: Stretched Stoke at times and got his reward moments before the break. Off-the-ball challenge from Collins on him saw the Stoke man see red. 7

Woodrow: His graceful play to set up Simoes was sublime and his hold-up was excellent. Stepped up to the plate and was the class player on view. 8

Substitutes: Kane. Came on early in the second period for Palmer. Will be better for the outing. 6.

Thomas: Came on for Simoes late on. 6

Schmidt: Entered the fray five minutes from time for Brittain. 6
