B Thomas: Debut day for the loanee. Provided an assist for Norwood’s spectacular opener. Did get booked. 7

Andersen: Charged with talking Thomas through. Little to worry about. 7

Kitching: A steady old afternoon as the Reds secured a clean sheet with relative ease. 7

Williams: On the charge frequently and had a field day, especially in a rampant first period. Coolly taken goal and had a late chance to add to his tally. 8

Phillips: Played his part in Williams’s strike. One of many to enjoy themselves in red. Assisted a couple of goals, but no goal. Still very good. 8

Connell: Beautiful ball for Reds’ third. Plenty of class on show and far too good for Accrington for spells. 8

Kane: Looked the part in a well-oiled midfield who outclassed their opponents for spells. Went close to scoring in second half twice. 8

Cadden: His sort of day. A willing raider on the left as Barnsley feasted on Accrington’s defensive uncertainty. 7

Aitchison: Got his milestone first goal at Oakwell and posed lots of problems for the visitors. Hunger and intent. 8

Norwood: Fully justified his recall to the starting line-up. Had Accrington’s number and scored quite a brilliant opener. Masterful. 8

Substitutes: Watters (Aitchison 65).Came on for his Oakwell debut. 6
