HERE are the Hull City player ratings from this afternoon's League One game with Burton Albion at the KCOM Stadium.

Ingram: Pretty much a bystander, although he will have been relieved when Edwards put an early chance wide for Burton and when Eardley's second half effort flew wide. 6

Emmanuel. Got more involved ahead of the break as Hull pressed and put over a fine cross for a good chance for Honeymoon. 6

Burke. Running repairs saw him forced to change his shirt after taking a whack in the first half. Ennis spun away from him for Burton's good early opportunity. 6

Greaves. Won his fair share of headers and posted a threat from set-pieces and nearly crowned his new deal with his first goal for Hull in the first half. 6

Elder. His threat grew and he put over some nice centres and was afforded plenty of space with Burton down to ten. 6

Honeyman. Thwarted by a top-notch tip-over from Garratt before the break. With Docherty and Smallwood minding the shop, was able to push forward. His free-kick led to City's opener. 6

Smallwood. A typical no-fuss Smallwood performance. You sometimes barely notice him, but keeps things ticking over. 6

Doherty. Handed a return to the side and was solid as opposed to spectacular. 6

Mayer. The stage was set perfectly for him against opponents down to ten men. But couldn't impose himself. Got the hook at half-time. 5.

Wilks. Drew two clumsy fouls from Hughes which resulted in the Burton player see red. Went close on a couple of occasions in the first half before settling nerves with an opener. Heavily involved, a go-to man for Hull. 8.

Substitutes: Adelakun (Scott 45). Took his chance impressively and helped himself to a goal eventually. 8.

Eaves (Mayer 45). Another who helped change the narrative for Hull. Missed one excellent chance when sent clear, but imposed himself on Burton's backline. 7

Samuelsen. Came on midway through the second half for Docherty. 6

Not used: Long, A Jones, Slater, C Jones.
