Rotherham United's hopes of staying in the Championship took a real hit with their 1-0 defeat to Birmingham City.

It was harsh on the Millers who had enjoyed the better of a low-quality game.

Wes Harding – got forward when he could and his long throws were a threat 6

Michael Ihiekwe – dealt with what little Birmigham City threw his way 6

Richard Wood – got stuck even, even overlapped at one point, and ended with his head strapped up. A rugby tackle which got him booked was the only blot 7

Angus MacDonald – seemed to be struggling in the second half but soldiered on 6

Clark Robertson – a lovely pass too release Wood down the left was his highlight 6

Matty Crooks – made an excellent slide tackle on Jonathan Leko, but unable to have the attacking influence he would have wanted from a deeper position 6

Shaun MacDonald – battled well in central midfield 6

Lewis Wing – the ray of sunshine in an otherwise low-quality scuffle 8

Michael Smith – missed a good chance from a Crooks pull-back and put a header onto the roof of the net 5

Freddie Ladapo – showed some bright moments without being able to provide the finish 7.
