Rotherham United boss on transfer latest as Millers continue to be linked with Sheffield United striker plus Sam Nombe update
ROTHERHAM United manager Matt Hamshaw remains hopeful of boosting his numbers with some much-needed new signings this month – as Sheffield United striker Ryan One continues to be linked with a loan move to the League One strugglers.
The under-pressure Millers chief is desperate for not only some results, but some new arrivals to supplement a squad which has been ravaged by injuries almost from day one this term.
One, 19, is expected to head out from Bramall Lane on a temporary basis before the window closes.
Questioned on links to the teenager, a coy Hamshaw commented: “He's a Sheffield United player.

“I'm hopeful of bringing some players in.”
The spectre of significant departures, with the likes of Sam Nombe – rated by Hamshaw as one on the best forwards in League One – being principal among them is the second part of the transfer equation for the Millers in an important winter window, which could go a fair way towards determining their divisional fate in 2025-26.
On whether there has been interested in any of his players, Hamshaw added: “Look, there's been a couple of phone calls that have been enquiries, but that has been it. So we've had no bids, we've had no concrete offers.
“We're trying to bring players in. I'd try and bring a player in tomorrow if I could, that's the gospel truth. However, that player might not be there yet, might not be available or might financially not make the remit of what we're looking for.”

Hamshaw is optimistic that Nombe (hamstring/quad) could feature at Bradford City on Saturday.
Middlesbrough defender Alfie Jones is expected to be out for between eight and 10 weeks after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury.
