Rotherham United temporarily close down day-to-day operations

LEAGUE ONE outfit Rotherham United have furloughed a number of staff and closed down their day-to-day operations.

The League One club took the decision in light of the government's support system amid the pandemic.

A club statement read: "With all football fixtures suspended until at least April 30 and following the announcements from the government this week, Rotherham United can confirm that the club has taken the decision to shut down its day-to-day operations at AESSEAL New York Stadium and Roundwood Sports Complex.

"Our priority is, and always has been, ensuring the continued health and wellbeing of our supporters, players, club staff and indeed the general public, and it is with the aforementioned at the forefront of our minds that we have taken this decision.

"Like a number of clubs in the EFL, Rotherham United have taken the decision to utilise the government's support system to furlough a number of staff during the absence of football."
