ROTHERHAM UNITED have been dealt a significant injury blow with Chiedozie Ogbene set to spend at least six weeks on the sidelines.

The winger injured his knee on Friday and missed Saturday's 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town, which saw the Millers concede deep into stoppage time.

Ogbene will undergo surgery on Monday, which will rule him out for between six to eight weeks.

"It's bad news on Chieo," confirmed Paul Warne after his side's 1-1 draw with Huddersfield.

"He damaged his knee in training on Friday. He's had a scan and he's seeing a surgeon on Monday. He'll be out for a minimum of six to eight weeks.

"Fortunately, it will coincide with two international breaks. He might miss five or six games. He's a big part of how we play, he's a big attacking threat for us.

"Today, we missed him. I think he would have got us up the pitch and caused no end of problems."

Warne was left crestfallen on Saturday evening as his side conceded a late own goal via a deflection from Angus MacDonald.

Ben Wiles had put the hosts ahead with a wonderful strike from 25 yards in the first half but just as the Millers thought they had done enough a shot from Town right-back Pipa deflected in off MacDonald.

"I think out of possession the lads couldn't work any harder. Huddersfield don't give you a minute on the ball and they forced us into a lot of unusual errors," reflected Warne.

"I was really pleased with the lads for giving everything. Especially considering Angus was outstanding, it was harsh on him.

"There are only so many waves that you can stop really. It's doubly cruel to concede an own goal. I would rather someone bend one in from 30 yards."

Meanwhile, Carlos Corberan was delighted with the character his side displayed to stay calm as they went in search of a victory.

After three-straight defeats in all competitions, the Terriers are now unbeaten in their last two outings.

"Rotherham was going to be one of the toughest games we were going to play. I think it's important to find a way you can dominate a game," said Corberan.

"In the first half we couldn't create all the chances we wanted. In the second half we created more clear chances.

"I was very proud of all my players even if we didn't score the goal. In football the most important thing to do is score. It took a bit of luck but it was very clear that we deserved it today.

"In the goal, the contribution of Pipa was very important but for me, also the contribution of all the players because sometimes in extra time, you can lose your calm and concentration and don't have the patience to create the real chance.

"I am very pleased with the personality they showed from the first moment. I am happy when I see the level of the team. I am more happy about the performances than the results we are getting."
