Brindley and Collin join promoted Rotherham

ROTHERHAM UNITED manager Steve Evans has completed a double transfer, bringing in former Chesterfield defender Richard Brindley and ex-Carlisle United goalkeeper Adam Collin.

Right-back Brindley, 20, and 28-year-old Collin, who has played over 130 games in League One for the Cumbrians, have signed two-year deals.

Their arrivals follow on from the permanent signing of one-time Huddersfield left-back Joe Skarz.

On signing for the Millers, Collin said: “There was a bit of interest from League One and the SPL but I’ve chosen to come here because it’s a club on the up with a great set-up at the training ground and the stadium. The location and the fanbase are excellent.”

Meanwhile, newly-promoted Bradford City are to take up 12-month options on Jon McLaughlin, Garry Thompson and Kyel Reid, with the out-of-contract trio offered deals to stay with the club for the 2013-14 campaign, along with Gary Jones.

New Doncaster Rovers manager Paul Dickov is reportedly lining up a raid on his old club Oldham Athletic to sign Latics duo Jose Baxter and Lee Croft. The latter is out of contract and considering a new deal, but Everton product Baxter, who penned a two-and-a-half year deal at Boundary Park in January, would command a decent fee, having scored 15 times last term.

Huddersfield Town are being linked with a move for young Walsall winger Jamie Paterson, who netted 13 times in 2012-13.
