FULL-TIME: Cheltenham Town 3 Rotherham United 0

ROTHERHAM UNITED’S automatic promotion hopes took a jolt when they went down 3-0 at in-form Cheltenham Town.

Rotherham found themselves behind after Jermaine McGlashan’s right-footed volley put Cheltenham ahead in the 32nd minute. It got worse for the Millers when Marlon Pack made it 2-0 in the 41st minute.

A third goal arrived for the home side through Steve Elliott in 84th minute.

Afterwards, Steve Evans admitted his side failed to turn up for the game and deserved what they got.

“I thought in the first-half we had some good possession but didn’t have any penetration in the final third,W said Evans.

“All three goals that they have got have come from massive individual errors, and when you make those errors you’re going to concede goals.

“You can’t make those mistakes, like allowing the cross to come in for the first goal, and after that it’s a great finish from the lad, don’t take that away from him.

“The second goal, their midfielder runs off one of our lads, and the third goal I think the whole ground can see what happens.

“We’ve not played well as a team today, but football is all about goals and when you analyse the goals individuals have let us down today but the performance for 90 minutes today just wasn’t acceptable.”
