Rotherham United: Loach loan return after brief Shakers stint

Loach, 26, who joined the Millers in the summer, featured just three times for the Gigg Lane outfit, having originally signed until early January.

All of the Nottingham-born custodian’s appearances for Bury ended in defeat, with the Lancastrians going down to Tranmere in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and Morecambe and Newport County in the league.

Shakers manager, former Barnsley chief David Flitcroft, confirmed Loach’s early return on Monday.

He said: “Scott has gone back for good; it has not worked out, sometimes it doesn’t.

“He had a slight niggle in his calf and we just felt it was better for all three parties who agreed it was better for Scott to go and get on with his career at Rotherham.”

Loach has made four appearances for the Millers this term, with his last match coming in the loss to Ipswich Town on September 27.

He has largely been forced to play second fiddle to Adam Collin, who made a much-publicised blunder in the Millers’ draw to Blackpool on Saturday.
