Salford City next manager: Ex-Doncaster Rovers, Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City men among favourites

Favourites for Salford City job including ex-Doncaster Rovers, Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City men

Figures familiar with fans of Doncaster Rovers, Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City are among the favourites to fill the managerial vacancy at Salford City.

The Ammies were recently beaten in the League Two play-off final, losing 3-0 to Notts County under the famous Wembley Arch.

Former Leeds United coach Karl Robinson led them to the final but will not be given the chance to go one better next term. Salford have parted ways with the 45-year-old, who was an assistant to Sam Allardyce during his Leeds reign.

A statement issued by the club yesterday (June 2) read: Karl Robinson has left his position as head coach of Salford City with immediate effect. Karl has conducted himself throughout his time at Salford City with professionalism and integrity.

“He has worked tirelessly on behalf of the club and has been fully dedicated to helping us achieve our ambitions, both on and off the pitch. We wish Karl all the best and every success in the future.”

Here are the early BetVictor favourites to lead Salford into the 2026/27 season.
