Tonight’s opponents Salford City won December’s reverse fixture at Wetherby Road but the Sulphurites have League Two’s third best away record this season, having won six of their 12 matches and drawn another.

“I expect another very tight game,” said Weaver, who came up against the Ammies in both clubs’ non-league days. “They’ve proved they’re a force to be reckoned with, with good attacking players. They’ve got good players overall as you’d expect because of where they are in the league.

“But our away form speaks volumes about our capacity to work away from home.

“Salford’s another big club but we don’t fear going anywhere because the record is intact and looking good.”

Warren Burrell and Lloyd Kerry are suspended after recent red cards. With Mitchell Roberts, Dan Jones, Joe Cracknell, Mark Beck and Will Smith injured, options are thin, which is why Weaver is not ruling out adding to the six signings he has already made this month, on top of eight in the last window.

“We’ve just got to work up to the deadline because numbers keep going up in terms of injuries and suspensions and we’ve had Covid in the camp as well so you can never take for granted that’s that,” he argued.

“We’ve just got to make sure, because this is our only (transfer) window until the end of the season, that we’re covered on all bases so I wouldn’t rule anything in or out at this stage.

“We’ll just keep our fingers to the pulse and make sure if there are any more arrivals they can really make an impact.

Meanwhile, Harrogate will have another attempt to play their home league game against Carlisle United at 7pm on February 16.

The first meeting between the sides was abandoned after 10 minutes because of a freezing pitch, the second postponed because of a power cut in the town.

Last six games: Harrogate Town DLWLWL; Salford City DWLLWW

Referee: M Edwards (Tyne and Wear).
