Clubs in the second tier of English football have returned to training with the beginning of a new season edging closer.
Championship football will return next month and undoubtedly provide the thrills it does year-after-year.
There will be just two Yorkshire clubs in the division next term, with Sheffield Wednesday having suffered relegation and Hull City having secured promotion.
The latter defeated Middlesbrough in the play-off final at Wembley and Kim Hellberg’s men will be determined to use their heartbreak as fuel to mount another promotion push.
Sheffield United, meanwhile, are entering a daunting post-parachute payments era. They slumped to a bottom-half finish last season and manager Chris Wilder has a huge rebuild job on his hands at Bramall Lane.
Middlesbrough and Sheffield United will be targeting promotion, although will face stern competition. West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley all dropped out of the Premier League last season and will have their sights set on an immediate return to the top flight.
The Parimatch UK Sportsbook supercomputer has been deployed to predict how the 2026/27 Championship season will unfold.
