Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 32+ – Captain pick, “Who’s hot, who’s not?”

Even though top spot has been decided, there’s still plenty to play for in the Premier League, especially Fantasy Football. Here’s this week’s Fantasy Premier League tips.

Leicester, Chelsea, Man United and Wolves target Champions League football and only one point splits Watford, West Ham, Bournemouth and Aston Villa towards the relegation zone.

Gameweek 32+ coincides with the FA Cup this weekend and takes place from Saturday afternoon all the way until Thursday evening when Man City will give Liverpool a guard of honour at the Etihad.

Captain Picks

Raul Jimenez (£8.3m) vs Aston Villa (A)

With four goals in his last five games, the in form Mexican faces the league’s weakest defence on Saturday afternoon and will be heavily tipped to add to his 21 goal involvements so far this season.

Jimenez scored in Wolves’ 2-1 over Aston Villa earlier in the season and since football’s return, no Wolves player has had more shots on target. I expect him to be a popular captaincy pick this week.

Anthony Martial (£9.7m) vs Brighton (A)

After scoring the first hat-trick of his career on Wednesday, there’s no secret why Martial enters the captaincy debate. The Frenchman is now the fifth highest scoring midfielder in the game and plays as Man United’s main forward in a system which sees Martial remaining central and integral to attacks.

Be aware of Brighton, however. United’s opposition have only lost once in their last seven league games and have only conceded more than once twice in their last thirteen games.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0m) vs Norwich (H)

Although Aubameyang has had 20 goal involvements so far this season, including a brace against Norwich earlier in the season, captaining the Arsenal man this week poses some risk. Aubameyang

hasn’t contributed to a goal in his last four league games which is the driest spell of his season although since football’s return he has taken more shots than anyone in the league – so maybe he’s due a goal?

Marcus Rashford (Man United, £9.0m)

Although Martial won the most fans with a 21-point haul bs Sheffield United, Marcus Rashford’s two assists gained him nine points too. Operating from the left wing, no Man United player has created more chances or had more touches in the opposition’s box than Rashford since lockdown as well as averaging two shots on target per game in the same time period. Next three games: Brighton, Bournemouth, Aston Villa.

Matt Ritchie (Newcastle, £5.3m)

With 26 points over his last two games and with Bournemouth and West Ham next, Matt Ritchie has all the qualities you should look for in a premium FPL defender. No Newcastle player has taken more shots or had more shots on target than Ritchie since lockdown and he’s occasionally on set-piece duties, too.

Michael Keane (Everton, £5.2m)

With two clean sheets and a goal in his last two games, Michael Keane deserves his spot on the ‘who’s hot?’ list. Everton’s tight defence is yet to concede a goal or a ‘big chance’ since returning and since they face an off-colour Leicester team who seem apprehensive in front of goal, Keane may well pick up another clean sheet this week.

Ones to Watch (Less than 5% ownership)

Willian (Chelsea, £7.0m, 4.1%)

With two consecutive starts, one goal, twelve points and the responsibility of penalty duties. Willian seems as nailed on as ever in Frank Lampard’s Chelsea plans in a bid to secure a top four finish. No Chelsea player has had more chances from open play or created more chances than the Brazilian over the last two gameweeks.

Emiliano Martinez (Arsenal, £4.2m, 1.6%)

As Leno is seemingly out injured for the remainder of the season, Martinez gets a chance in net for the Gunners ahead of a favourable game against Norwich this weekend on the back of a comfortable clean sheet held against Southampton last week. At £4.2m, Martinez is now the cheapest starting goalkeeper in the game.

Phil Foden (Man City, £5.2m, 1.3%)

With seemingly nothing left for Manchester City to play for this season, Pep Guardiola may use the remainder of the season to plan forward and embed Foden into his plans as David Silva is due to

move on later this summer. Foden scored 22 points in GW31+ and although he missed the Chelsea game due to picking up a knock, he is expected to return when they face Liverpool on Thursday.
