Football Talk Podcast - Saluting Sheffield United’s magnificent Premier League return

After gaining automatic promotion, it was largely expected that Sheffield United would, like the majority of promoted clubs, endure a season of struggle as they bedded in for their first season in the top flight since 2007.

But it has proved to be anything but, the Blades comfortably holding their own under the guidance of Chris Wilder, so much so that when the season was forced into an unexpected break in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, they were in contention for a place in Europe next season.

It remains to be seen how or when the 2019-20 season is brought to a conclusion as the game’s authorities, both domestically and across Europe, seek the best way forward.
