Sheffield United 0 Manchester City 1 - player ratings

At times in the first half, it looked like Sheffield United might be on the wrong end of the first cricket score Bramall Lane has had for a while.

In the end, keeping a Manchester City side who started the game so well down to 1-0 was a decent achievement for the Blades, but they are still searching for their first win of the season.

The second half was much better as they applied pressure to Guardiola's men, but without a breakthrough.

Max Lowe – found himself playing full-back in the first half and even as the Blades got forward more, it was funnelled down the other side 6

Sander Berge – always the most likely creator for the Blades, his crosses did not always find a team-mate but he laid on his side's one big chance 7

Ethan Ampadu – loose in possession at times as he tried to make things happen 5

Ben Osborn – struggled to make an impact, but he was not alone in that 5

Oli McBurnie – not an easy game for attacking players 5
