Sheffield United 2 Plymouth Argyle 1 - Blades player ratings
Here’s how we rated the individual performances.
Aaron Ramsdale - A very quiet day until Plymouth’s goal which he should not have allowed to squirm underneath him - 5
Chris Basham - As industrious as ever, and after watching his team-mates squander a host of chances, he took his with authority, heading United into the lead - 7

Hide AdJohn Egan - Barely put a foot wrong but the opposition wasn’t as threatening as he has been used to - 6
Ethan Ampadu - A regular going forward in the old overlapping centre-back role, but his distribution was often heavy - 6
Jayden Bogle (Baldock 71) - Headed a good chance wide in the first half but played very advanced and a good outlet down the right - 6
Enda Stevens - Almost constantly involved in the first half down that left side, put in a number of crosses and caused problems - 7

Hide AdJohn Lundstram - Should have done a lot better than fire wide when the ball was cut back to him shortly before the opening goal - 6
Oli Norwood (Bryan 72) - Bounced back from a poor performance against Spurs last week to run midfield and his pass to Sharp for the second goal, played between two defenders, was a delight - 7
John Fleck - Neat and tidy as always, it’s good to have him back in the side, linking defence with attack and driving United forward - 7
Rhian Brewster (McGoldrick 79) - Hit a stinging drive in the first half, couldn’t connect with a pull back shortly afterwards and then somehow fell on his backside in the second half. A busy performance but he needs a goal - 6

Hide AdBilly Sharp (Burke 79) - Didn’t look like it would be his day with two missed chances in the first 10 minutes but then he set up the opening goal and scored the second. A captain’s and a striker’s contribution - 7
