George Baldock – a bright presence, popping up a few times on the left, before succumbing to a muscle injury 7

Oliver Norwood – his reluctance to tackled was a factor in the opening goal. Subbed at half-time 6

John Fleck – rediscovering his best form 7

Jayden Bogle – a huge goal for the wing-back 7

David McGoldrick – had his usual influence, pushed deeper in the second half 6

Billy Sharp – cometh the hour – a crucial goal from the skipper as he looked like he was about to be substituted 7.
