After a goalless first half, Neill Collins gave the Blades a 70th-minute lead when converting from Louis Reed’s corner.

As the hosts pushed for an equaliser, United then hit Swindon on the counter attack just six minutes later through Billy Sharp.

The success leaves the Blades just one point behind new leaders Walsall and ahead of third-placed Burton Albion on goal difference.
