Sheffield Wednesday: Fan's Verdict 2016-17

Sheffield Wednesday supporter Terry Hibberd, 41, of Ossett, looks ahead to the new season.

Verdict: This season is one in which expectations are higher than ever at Hillsborough and if pre-season is any indication, then those expectations of a top-six finish at least will be met by the Owls.  So far, recruitment has been slow, but Carlos Carvalhal is someone who knows what he wants and I would expect him to get the players that he needs, even if it does takes a little longer than he would like.

Key man: Fernando Forestieri, he is definitely our talisman.

Advice to manager: Just carry on with what you have been doing.

What will make or break your club’s season: Without more signings, injuries could be devastating.

What changes are needed off the field: No need for changes, we just need to continue to build on the relationship between the club and  supporters.

Which team would you like to most beat and why: Aston Villa. It would be a real statement if we could beat them in the opening game, especially as it is on TV.

Promoted: Norwich, Newcastle, Derby.

Relegated: Burton Albion, Blackburn Rovers and Rotherham United.

Predicted finish: 5th, and the play-offs.
