It was an enjoyable afternoon for the Hillsborough faithful as Sheffield Wednesday roared to a 7-2 victory over newly-promoted Bromley.
Louie Barry and Jamal Lowe registered braces and there were also goals for Callum Slattery, Mason Burstow and Gabriel Otegbayo in the South Yorkshire rain.
Victor Adeboyejo stroked home from the penalty spot and Otegbayo scored at the wrong end, but the late consolations could not dampen the Wednesday spirit.
Here are The Yorkshire Post’s ratings from Hillsborough.
9. Jamal Lowe - 9
Buzzed around with infectious vibrancy and weighed in with two goals and an assist. | Steve Ellis
10. Louie Barry - 9
Wednesday signed him to be direct and go at defenders - that is exactly what he did. Showed his ruthlessness in front of goal to bag a second-half brace. | George Wood/Getty Images
11. Callum Slattery - 9
Turned into trouble on the odd occasion but risk is often the cost of creativity. Dropped into awkward spaces all afternoon and grabbed a goal and an assist. A very fun player to watch. | Steve Ellis
12. Mason Burstow - 8
Did not give Bromley's defenders a moment of peace and got in on the fun with a goal and an assist. | Steve Ellis
