Fixtures 2015-16: Championship’s new arrivals provide home opener for Sheffield Wednesday


The Robins, who clinched promotion to the Championship in Yorkshire with a 6-0 win at Bradford in the spring, visit Hillsborough on August 8, with the Owls’ first away trek being a long trip to Suffolk to face Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich Town seven days later.

The Owls, just like recent campaigns, call in at Elland Road in early season, visiting there on August 22. They host Middlesbrough, who they have held the Indian sign over in recent seasons, seven days later to round off August.

Hide AdWednesday face Roses trips to Burnley (September 12) and Bolton (September 15) at the start of the autumn and welcome Steve Bruce’s Hull on October 17.
The Owls must fit in a long trip to QPR on October 20 before facing a derby at Rotherham on October 24 and they welcome Huddersfield on November 21.
Birmingham are the Boxing Day opposition at Hillsborough before the Owls visit the Riverside Stadium two days later.
The Owls host Bolton in their first home clash of 2016 on January 12 and welcome Leeds on January 16, just after the second anniversary of their famous 6-0 blitzing of the Whites in January 2014.

Hide AdWednesday head east to Hull on February 27 and follow up with another derby, at home to Rotherham - who they haven’t beaten in the league at S6 since September 1981 - on March 5.
The Owls visit Huddersfield on April 2 and end the month with their final home clash of the campaign against Cardiff on April 30.
A tough trip to Molineux provides the seasonal finale on May 7.
