Owls sign former Blades winger Keith Treacy; Barnsley go for Higginbotham

SHEFFIELD Wednesday have signed former Sheffield United winger Keith Treacy on loan from Burnley until the end of the season.

Manager Dave Jones is still hoping to complete a second deal before the 5pm transfer deadline.

Neighbours Sheffield United are on the brink of completing a loan deal for a young player from a Premier League club.

Meanwhile, Barnsley have signed Huddersfield Town striker Kallum Higginbotham on loan and defender Jay McEveley has completed his loan switch to Swindon Town.

The Owls have also announced the signing of Newcastle United striker Nile Ranger on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Ranger, 20, made five appearances on loan for Barnsley earlier in the season.

The Blades have completed the loan signing of Scottish under 21 international winger Michael O’Halloran, 21, from Bolton Wanderers on loan until the end of season.
