The 22-year-old Southampton winger has made four starts for the Owls since joining on loan from Premier League side Southampton.

Despite being under contract for a further two years at St Mary’s, Isgrove would consider a return to Sheffield Wednesday next season on a longer-term loan deal.

He said: “It will be clear after the pre-season if I’m in and around the senior players, and depending who they bring in, I’ll be able to see where I stand.

“If I’m not going to be involved then I’ll be looking to do a season somewhere so I can start the season with them and really settle in, rather than just coming in late in the season.

“I’ve enjoyed my time here so I wouldn’t see why now. If Sheffield Wednesday want me again it would be a good option.”

Head coach Gray said: “He’s come into the football club and done extremely well.

“The fans have taken to him, he gives 100 per cent, he can use both feet.

“He had a great chance for us on Saturday hitting the bar.

“And it’s refreshing that he’s mot off his backside, left a Premier League club who are pushing for the top four, so he can continue learning his trade here.

“One thing we do know is he’s a credit to Southampton and if we can get him back here that would be great.”

Wednesday host high-flying Brentford on Tuesday with Gray reporting that Will Keane has been sent back to parent club Manchester United as he continues to battle an ankle problem, while Jose Semedo will be sent for an injection on his foot injury on Tuesday.
