Sheffield Wednesday manager's admission regarding Ali Al-Hamadi plus transfer update
SHEFFIELD Wednesday manager Henrik Pedersen admits that the arrival of recent signing Ali Al-Hamadi will bolster his options in terms of playing two up front.
The Ipswich Town striker has joined on a season-long loan and could make his debut in Saturday's League One home game against Bromley at Hillsborough.
Asked whether his arrival could see the Owls switch to a two-pronged attack, Pedersen, who has deployed just one solitary central attacker in all four previous games this term, said: "He (Al-Hamadi) is a clear 'number nine'. Mason (Burstow) is also a nine, but he can also play ten.
"Jamal (Lowe) can play nine, ten and both sides in the the outside ten position. So I think it's an option that it doesn't only need to be one player and two on the bench.

"I also think they can play together and I'm sure we'll also see this in the future.
"I think it's just an extra addition that we have the option also to play with two strikers, that we have the option to use them in different ways.
"So I think it's does not mean we need to change, but it means that we can make additional things tactically that can help us to be more effective."
Pedersen confirmed that the Owls are not currently close regarding any potential new signings ahead of Tuesday night's summer window deadline.

With transfer restrictions and a spate of activity so far essentially meaning that the club are now only looking at free agents, they could do business in the free agent market and are now purely restricted to next week's cut-off point.
Pedersen added: "We are looking to make the team better every day and we are looking in the free market and of course there is option before and after (the deadline). So we do all that we can to see if we can find another player."
The Owls chief has confirmed that defender Sil Swinkels will be out for three to four weeks with a hamstring injury.
